Moving On

Your heart is broken. Your world is turned upside down. It seems as though time should stop in empathy for your grief. How can life go on?

Somehow, it does. The cruel thing is that it goes on in a very normal manner without regard for your pain. Once a funeral is over… once a goodbye is said… once divorce papers are signed… your alarm will wake you in the morning. You take a shower because you need to. You go to work because you have to. You pay your bills so your electricity will stay on.

The world rushes by in its pursuit of things that suddenly no longer matter to you. The world doesn’t care. Because your situation is not unique. To the world, you’re nothing special.

But to God, you are someone special. And God, existing in a higher dimension than our limited understanding can fathom, is timeless. So He waits for you to move on. When your heart is broken, He does not push you into routine; He leads you into healing. Let the world rush by as it goes through the meaningless motions of existence. God will wait with you.
