Sacrificial Monday

As Americans, we think we have a lot of “rights.”

As Christians, we have none.

Instead, we are called to give up all rights, take up our cross, and live a humble and unassuming life of self-sacrifice. This can be super hard to live by on rainy Mondays when you think you have a “right” to a hot shower, or you “deserve” a raise you didn’t get, or your professor “should” have let you out early so you could get coffee between classes, and you now have a “right” to be angry. But instead, look to the example of Christ and make this a day where you lay down your rights, expect nothing, and see everything as a gift.

Luke 9:23 — “If anyone would come after Me, he must deny himself and take up his cross daily and follow Me.”

  1. Good words to remember when we think we “deserve” anything.
